Other than a multi meter an automotive test light would work I think. I just broke down and bought a multi meter and started learning how to use it. I had never used one before reading this thread.
A multi meter costs less than the part.
Every time I start my truck now, I smell that faint gas smell and I smile... knowing that a little money and about 15 minutes has probably saved me quite a lot of money and time later.

My 286k mile 05 v8 has made it this far... I don't see why I'd gamble on it being ok out to 500k miles since I'm finally getting to spend money on her.

Thanks for the tips. I was thinking about getting a small air compressor anyway and I happen to have a $25 Lowes gift card so.... looks like I will have that air compressor tomorrow. Maybe I can knock one off the shelf and move it over to the scratch and dent area.:jk:
OK I did several searches for this and couldn't find anything similar. Several "when up to temp" threads but nothing quite like this. So apologies in advance if my search-fu is weak.

Last winter when the temp dropped well below freezing I had a problem crop up with a misfire on start...
To answer your questions/comments I was getting sound before but a really bad rattle. I had turned down the bass to alleviate some of the annoying rattle sound. I did remember to turn the bass up so I would have sound coming through. That was good advice anyway :)
OK through much trial and error here's what I've got.
I can hook up the + and - from each side of the original speaker to the + and - of the new speaker and get nothing. I can invert them and still get nothing. (Red and yellow on one side of the new speaker and black and green on the other...
