Where does ECU get system voltage?

I read in a post that you can get the volt measure from the alternator by connecting the multimeter to the alternador post. It’s easily accessed you just need to remove the plastic cap. Now. If you follow the Alt-S fuse in the engine bay, there are 3 wires that connects to a plug just below...

Where does ECU get system voltage?

The battery light at the dash is triggered by the alternator wiring, take a look at your voltage when the car is idle, in Parked, if it’s dropping it will trigger the light.

    Alternator plug - wires

Thanks, we checked the wiring, it was messy. Put a new plug. Turns out my alternator had bad diodes, causing the parasitic draw, all good now!

    2005 SR5 V6, Misfire CYL 6, P0306 and P0420

Hey, I’m also chasing a P0306 for a few weeks, no radiator leaks, good compression, changed coils and spark plugs look ok. I found this document that may be helpful for you since you are also having another code along with the missfire.

    Alternator plug - wires

Thanks ! This helps ! Weird. My plug and wires are different colors than what the diagram shows. I wonder if something in the wiring could be causing the parasitic draw. The purple wire (Pin1) is the one with no connector.

    Alternator plug - wires

2006, v6. I have a bad parasitic draw, around 300-400 milliamps, I was able to track it to the Alt/S fuse, if I remove it would drop to approx 50 milliamps. I found that if I remove the wire plug from the alternator I get the same effect in my draw. I see there are 3 wires going to my plug...

What did you do with your 4runner today?

Ty for this, no wonder I didn’t find any wires online lol I have the v6; there’s was no coolant when I checked (let the car overnight and removed the spark plug) but I have read about the head gasket issue. I will check that. I’m also thinking, what if the new coil is bad? I’m thinking I...

What did you do with your 4runner today?

I’ve been trying to solve a mystery. Missfire at cyl 6. Put a new coil, checked spark plug. Good. Checked for coolant leak (just in case) - good. The car ran fine after a few days I put the new coil and today when I started in the morning was rough and checked engine light came back. I’m...
