If you did a clean job and taped/tucked all the wiring, you will pass smog no problem.
I have had the Slyfox kit in for several years and have had a smog check In SoCal without any issues. You don't need to remove it.
I installed SlyFox's bypass kit in my GX470 and it works great. No more vacuum cleaner noise and no more xmas tree lights on the instrument cluster.
Although my valves were closed, I am going to install the plates anyway just to take care of it completely.
His kit is super easy to install...
