    A question of lift… (‘95 4Runner)

Hi all, Late last year, I purchased a ‘95 to be my “fun” 4Runner, and a garage companion with my ‘97 daily driver. There’s a bit of expected exterior body fun, but I was pleased to find a manual V6 4x4 at a decent price that had no rust and was in great running shape…just needed the amount of...

What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

That’s very good to know, thanks. Yes, mine were labeled as well, and I made sure to put “A” on the driver/gas tank side and “B” on the passenger side, but it didn’t come with any additional hardware I could see. I’ll keep digging…

The 3rd Gen All Questions Allowed Thread

Yes, the full color electrical manual is available through the online FSM, which you can get access to on the Toyota site for something like $25 for 48 hours. I ended up going on and downloading every PDF I could put my hands on. :-D This way you can get the year-specific docs for your rig...

What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Fair shout! In-process pics below. I’ll get a pic of the side, before/after, once I’ve had some coffee. In all, it went smoother than I would have expected. Yes, I had seized bolts on the bottom mount for my front shocks, but heat freed the driver’s side and a breaking bar was the ultimate...

What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Re-badged. I removed the badges, scraped them clean, polished up their original locations, and painted them with a paint that was surprisingly closer to the darker gray used on my accents (mine is Anthracite). Used the same paint for my AM grille. Four coats of paint and three of clear coat...

What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Spent an utterly ridiculous amount of time downloading the 1997 TSM, splitting it in to chapter sections, and building a nice set of PDF books so I can reference it on my iPad. Yes, I know I could have gotten a paper one, but I find this to be very handy.

Looking For Wiring Diagram - 2002 Stereo Head Unit

…and if you go for a new head unit, rip out the premium audio amp. It’s in there to make the low end speakers sound passable. A new head unit and speakers make it irrelevant (plus, it’ll make your new speakers sound bad). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

I had replaced my sensors in early September, with Densos I purchased on Amazon. I think the old ones were Bosch…whatever the brand, they were OLD. After installing, thinks just didn’t seem right. I was used to the instant mpg readings on my Ultra Gauge, and they just looked lower, right out of...

What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

It was a good day. Finished my new grille (three coats primer, three coats paint, three coats clear coat), it’s installed. Installed a new 3D printed cabin air filter (Tommy is the man). The charcoal filter I installed is too restrictive on the air flow, so I’ll have to put something else...

P0130, low MPG, and a rogue vacuum hose

Interesting. Well, I picked up a new Denso 234-4162 and the difference is noticeable. The error is gone, my instant MPG is noticeably higher (watching my Ultra Gauge), and after a number of long drives around town I’m seeing a significantly higher average MPG. Looks like I got either a defective...

Nice. Thank you for confirming. I really appreciate the info! Just curious, any thoughts on the vacuum hose? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
