Thinking of buying a salvaged (hail) 2006 sr5

Thanks for all the help everyone, based on all this I think I will most likely be passing on this vehicle unless I can get out the door for 7,500 which I almost guarantee won't happen because I think this dealership bid 7,200 for it themselves. Glad to know there is such a helpful community of...

Thinking of buying a salvaged (hail) 2006 sr5

Kind of what I was thinking, the interior looks immaculate and 120k for that price is hard to find near me. I think if I can get 8k or maybe 9k out the door it wouldn't be too bad a deal

Thinking of buying a salvaged (hail) 2006 sr5

When did you purchase your 4runner and what milage if you don't mind me asking. I have been trying to learn the market so that I can spot deals and duds more effectively. The market is really tough out here in Colorado with the mountains and all the snowy weather driving people to purchase these...

Thinking of buying a salvaged (hail) 2006 sr5

If it were a private seller I would agree total greed but as far as I can tell the insurance company took hold of the vehicle from the last owner and then auctioned it off to the dealership it is at. I guess I should amend my original post to include that. From what I can tell he bought it at...

Thinking of buying a salvaged (hail) 2006 sr5

So after looking into it further I am completely confused with the title. Being in colorado hail damage can not be used to salvage a vehicle. It was declared a total loss due to hail from what I can tell from the carfax and then a duplicate/salvage title in Colorado Springs. So maybe it is a...

Thinking of buying a salvaged (hail) 2006 sr5

I just found a 2006 sr5 about an hour away from me with 120k miles for $10,700. Catch is that is a hail salvage. I'm thinking of checking it out and as long as its mechanically sound and frame is all good I'm considering offering 8 grand and try to settle for $8,500 or $9,000 cash. I'm fine...

    Yay, I can finally post!

I have some family out in the Chicago area and was going to have them go out to a dealership to check one out for me. What dealership did you go to if you don't mind me asking. If it is the one I am interested in I could possibly save them a trip.

Buying a Gen 3 across the country?

Thanks for the advice, do you remember what service you used for yours? I just looked some up and found Carchex and looks like a pretty good service but was wondering what your experience with your inspection service was like.

Buying a Gen 3 across the country?

Hey everyone, I am new to not only 4runners but also Toyota. The first thing I came to learn is that these trucks hold their value better than I had thought they did. I need some advice from anyone who is willing to give it. I am not sure if my expectations are too high but below is my list of...

Possible purchase on 3rd gen. Need help

I saw a vehicle with what I think you described. It seems like a decent deal, 120k miles on a 2000 limited with center and rear lock for 9000 bucks but this service record on the carfax has me worried.

    2004 v8 limited 4runner $4200 *craigslist find*

Yeah, it kind of scared me off anyways. I contacted him about the "exhaust issue" and was not the most pleasant person to talk to. He kept everything short and vague. The search goes on for my first 4runner.
