If it runs like new, what are you worried about? Upgrade/refresh the suspension, new brakes, keep up with fluid changes and general maintenance, drive it forever, and brag about your high mileage 4Runner to your friends.

Buy an official Toyota OEM knock sensor and pigtail, fix the wiring, and be done with it. You don't want to be screwing with this down the road when you could've taken care of it all at once. Source: Guy who's had a code 52 for 2.5 years.

When I initially took out the master switch cluster, I noticed this as well. Took everything apart and cleaned the snot out of it, still worked like it did before (intermittently). *sigh* Well it's almost winter, so I won't need to roll my window down for a while anyway.

I've had this same problem for a few months. Was intermittent at first, now it just doesn't work at all. Rebuilt then replaced the window master switch, the relay box, as well as the fuse. Motor is good (tested it with jumper wires off the battery). I kinda just gave up on it.

Why are you looking to get out of a 3rd and into a 1st/2nd? Just curious.

Before we can really answer any questions, what do you plan on doing with the truck? Antenna, try junkyards. If that fails, eBay or classifieds. Head unit, go with whatever. You can get a head unit with that meets those requirements for dirt cheap these days.

These are all maintenance items. None of these really qualify as being repairs. That being said, here are my recommendations: Brakes - OEM equipment on the rear, Stoptech rotors and Hawk LTS pads in the front. Belts - Gates is good. I've always gone with Gates and never been let down...

What'd you use on the mirrors? Looks great.
