    Stuck throttle....Wide Open!

The first car I owned, a '68 Torino, had a broken motor mount. I did not know it was broken. During a turn through an intersection one day, the car accelerated quickly. I had no idea what happened, but it scared the crap out of me - I was 17. When I told my stepfather what happened, he knew what...

275/ 70/ 18 wheels for sale or trade

In traffic today, I was behind a 4Runner with the XSP 20" wheels. Those wheels certainly are sweet looking on the 4R.

$500 more for certified. Do it?

Who said what? Who said the manifolds and labor would cost a shade over $1,800? My service advisor. Who said I saved a load of cash by having the certified warranty cover the repair? I do. The value of certified status is subjective. I did not know the cost of certification, nor did I care. I...

$500 more for certified. Do it?

Nonsense! The exhaust manifolds on my 2007 are being replaced tomorrow at no cost to me thanks to the CTUV warranty. Without certification, the job would have cost over $1,500. It's interesting that most responders in this thread are from New England. I had to venture all the way to Cape Cod to...

    WeatherTech VS Husky Liners

I had a full set of husky liners in my 2005, and I now have Weathertech in the front and middle, and Husky in the rear of my 2007. The Husky liners were great. I had no problem with them. I chose Weathertech for my 2007 simply because I was curious. Both brands provide good floor coverage. The...

Missing oil dipstick and tube after service

Yeah, people make mistakes, and in this case they were quick to remedy the problem. That's also a sign of professionalism. They sent the technician to my house with the dipstick and tube first thing this morning. I added one quart of oil. Job done. I view it as an honest mistake. The tech and...

Missing oil dipstick and tube after service

Indeed, that is exactly the plan. I am simply curious.

Missing oil dipstick and tube after service

My local Toyota dealer replaced both exhaust manifold gaskets today. Once I arrived home, I crawled underneath for a quick visual check. Sadly, the passenger side was covered in oil down near the bottom of the block, and the skid plate had a puddle of oil. When I tried to check my oil level, I...

    Best price on 5100's

Down South Motorsports and ShockWarehouse.com are the two outlets I was going to recommend. A quick check of ebay confirmed the $329 price. The seller is in fact Down South MS. I'm not sure why their ebay listing is $30 less than their website listing. Edit: I remembered reading a post a while...

    The terrible seat....

Granted, I have nothing helpful to offer, but I can say I find the 4th gen seats to my liking. We had a 2005 limited and we (wife and I) loved the seats. We sold that vehicle, but then soon found ourselves wanting another SUV. We bought another 4th gen limited mainly because we like the ride...

Carfax I am curious, if you run a Carfax on the SR5's vin, will the four body shop trips appear on the report?

    one car too far

I agree. I frequent the Jeep forum quite often, and I can say that there is a definite maturity difference between the two forums. Both forums are great, and I learned a great deal from both, but things degrade quicker over there. Take the parallel thread to this thread on Jeep forum. At last...

    What's The Best Seat Covers?

Gt I second the recommendation of GT Covers. I fitted my 4th gen and my Wrangler Rubicon with GT's Endura covers. I am not sure if they are the "best," but I have nothing but praise for them after a few years of use.
