Just wanted to report back on the 265/70/17 SLs. 32 PSI set cold around high 30s/low 40s outside has been overall great for a empty stock weight rig on street roads. It’s subjective, but I think it’s smoother than the LT KO2 by a good bit. I occasionally do get a little vibration before they...
I have been running the same size in SL for the past 3 weeks. Started at 38 and worked my way down to 32. 32 cold has been perfect on the road and driving around town at stock weight. I will probably bump it up to 35 on road trips with a loaded rig.
Thanks for the info. Yep, I am running the 600# spring on the 6112s at the 6th clip. I will give 32psi a shot to see what it feels like to compare and I will report back. I did not have any issues with my slow speed off-roading at stock weight with the KO2s, but I can see how speed and...
I just went from 285/70/17 KO2 C Load to 265/70/17 AT3W SL. Noticeable difference with power and acceleration. MPGs have improved on the highway significantly. However, I am not seeing any difference in the city. The SL Falken is very impressive on snow packed roads. I am currently trying...
Thanks for the great info. I am on my 2nd spring in 12 months - learning the hard way here. I initially ran a 660lbs springs on eibach shocks without any hardware upfront. We subjectively found the ride to be too stiff for DD and was too bouncy offroad. As I am now generally happy with the...
Good info! Sounds like a solid build. Do you know the coil pound rating for the dobinsons coils? Good luck with the install and post pictures after. The Pro folks can run the 600lbs coil on TRD bilsteins for some lift so I don’t think you will have problems selling that pair of coils.
You are referring the KDSS clip settings with the 600lbs coil, correct?
I am at the 6th clip setting for 2.7” of lift with a 1” Eibach rear coil that is really 1.5” and I have slight rake.
I definitely think a heavier load tire will stiffen the ride with either a King or 6112 setup. I would consider going to a higher load rating if you want to stiffen the ride with the Kings but keep in mind a heavier E load tire will effect mileage, acceleration, etc.
If you do the 6112 setup...
I’ve been limited on time recently and excuse me if we covered this but I believe the height/lift clip settings are different as per bilsteins website instructions for the 600 vs 650 coil setup. Might be worth glancing at.
I’ve test driven a rig with a 600lbs coil slightly preloaded with a...
Personally, with a new truck like that I would stick with just in D and see how it performs. I would drive it as you normally do and it will break in your driving habits overtime. Enjoy the new truck.
How do you like ride quality? Did you go from stock to the 6112/5160 setup?
On Bilsteins website, I think the clip setting instructions are different with the different coils 600 vs 650. I am set at 6th clip setting with the 600lbs coil and netted 2.7” in line with the instructions.
Also, I do...
