When do you guys wash your T4R?

Same here! As long as I'm washing in the shade, or the sun is at a low angle, and the temps are above freezing......... I'll wash!

    will this do?

I think you'll be fine with the Meguiar's stuff. However, it's too bad you couldn't find the 303, as it is an excellent product on the interior, and exterior trim.

    Zaino and Porter-Cable?

I like using the ZFX when I want to put down an initial 2 to 3 coats of Z2 or Z5 for a base. Then, I go to single coats of Z when needed. After a couple/few single coats of Z, I like to throw in an ocassional coat of Z1 to solidify the bonding.

    Keeping a BLACK car shiny.

Yea, my preference is a as follows: Hand wash when really dirty, QEW when moderately dirty, and Spray & Wipe when lightly dirty. Now, if your area doesn't allow hand washing in the driveway, you are up against a double edged sword, as most car washes frown upon you "hand washing" in there...

    Keeping a BLACK car shiny.

iForce, OK, a couple things........... Again, I understand that you don't have much of a choice but to use the touchless car wash during the winter months. I have the same situation here in NE PA............. salt, sand, slush, sleet and everything else. Anyhow, let me make a couple of...

    Keeping a BLACK car shiny.

Hi iForce! Having owned a couple black vehicles, and having detailed hundereds of them, I certainly understand how difficult it is to keep black looking nice. Having said that, I will tell you that one of the secret to keeping black vehicles looking good, is to minimize the swirls/spider web...

    Leather interior

Any of the products mentioned here should work well. Only because it hasn't been mentioned, I'll throw in Lexol Leather cleaning/conditioning products. Another fine duo is the 4 Star Ultimate leather cleaner, and Ultimate leather conditioner.

    Dreaded Recycled Water Spots.

Don't let the water spots sit long, or they will etch into the paint, and you might not ever get them out!!!!! Pick up some good paint cleaner, and a light "abrasive" polish. Start first with the paint cleaner to see if it will remove the spots. If it doesn't, you may need to go to the light...

What does it cost you to do your own oil/filter change?

With Mobil 1 oil, a good filter, and some grease in the driveline fittings, I would say between $35 & $45. Not sure how much oil my V6 takes with the filter? I thought I read 5.2 quarts? :dunno: I'm also curious about the teflon washer?

    Oil Filter recommendations

Yep, I've spent a considerable amount of time on "theoilguy" site. Good information, and a LOT of it! Sometimes too much information! :D Anyhow, I drive around 11,000 - 12,000 miles a year. Therefore, I plan on changing my oil every 4 months (around 4,000 miles). The Toyota OEM, or Wix filter...

Removed Pin Stripe and now a haze.

Have you tried a light abrasive polish like Meguiar's #9, or a good paint cleaner?

    Oil Filter recommendations

I'll give the Toyota filters a try............. thanks again everybody! hre814, Well, it's winter here in the great Northeast. Therefore, I probably won't get the vehicle detailed, and get pics until sometime in the spring. I don't have a digital camera, so I'll have to get some pics and have...

    Oil Filter recommendations

Yep, the Toyota filter sounds like a good filter. As it turns out, a little research has led me to believe that the oil filters made in the USA for Toyota may be manufactured by Wix (DANA) anyhow. However, a little more research has pointed out that the Toyota TRD oil filters manufactured in...

Griot's Hand Polish - swirl mark removal?

That's good to hear on the Griots polish. I've been thinking about getting some of their products to try. (I have just about everybody else's products :D ) I too like a product that doesn't have fillers in it................. I like to "remove" the imperfections, not "hide" them. Even though I...
