I have not bought a trailer yet, but will soon. After all my research I am convinced that it will tow a trailer around 4000lbs no problem, but I am going to install a transmission cooler and brake controller.

When you do find the right one, if it is a 4WD, V6, make sure 4 Low works. If 4 Low has not been engaged in awhile, it may not work and the fix can be costly.

First road trip! Maiden voyage with my family in my 2009 4Runner. Traveled from the Chicago area to the northern part of the Upper Penisula of Michigan, towing a pop up trailer. Great trip. Lots of great off-roading options in this part of our beautiful country.
