Thanks Singtoe, that explains alot. I took a look at my old transfer case and it does not have the connector at location 6. There is a boss but it is not machined for the sensor. I'll try and find a harness or extra plug at a junk yard. Anybody have a harness in the Toronto area? thanks again...

ok, thanks for everything, I'll crawl under and take a look when I get a chance. I'm hoping the extra plug is for the center diff lock but we'll see. Dave

Do you know if the electrical plugs match on the transfer case ... old vs new? thanks for the diagrams! Dave

Thanks Singtoe! If I've read right I could replace Number 5 with the dash switch from a 2001-02 4Runner and if need be put a light on it to indicate center diff locked. I will clean up the wires and see if I can make out the colors. Does anybody know if the connectors are the same? Dave

Thanks Garagebuilt, Singtoe for the reply, I will probably just go the simple route in my swap and connect the minimum. Did the old transfer case electrical plugs match the new transfer case? See attached picture if anybody can tell me what each plug does. thanks! I hope this works! Dave

I am guessing that Pin 6,7,9 & 18 require wires to the transfer case motor and detection switches. Does anybody have a picture of the switch locations on the multi-mode transfer case? I can take a picture and post it up tonight but at "work" now. Also Pin 1 has no connection but Garagebuilt...
