Flat cargo area with tie downs and storage

One other thing to consider, that I ran across in my design. My original design was like his with a single big door to access the storage. But it's very common for me to have stuff in the back of the truck and it's way easier to shift it to one side or even lift one side of the cargo up to...

Flat cargo area with tie downs and storage

No problem. I did hate to give up that space on the side. I placed the 2x4 over the body reinforcement plates for secure bolting. I originally planned to have them at the far edges of the area but felt 1 layer of sheet metal might tear out in a crash. With my placement of the 2x4 it made...

Yes, I cut to size. The aluminum is soft and I cut it with a sharp compound miter saw with a wood blade. As long as the work is secured, and you have good eye and skin protection, it cuts through it like butter. Be safe.

Flat cargo area with tie downs and storage

if you look closely in this image you can see that there are two layers of ply. So there are the 2x4 that are through bolted to the truck body. On top of that there is a plywood base that is almost a half sheet of plywood with the holes for the doors cut out. Then there is a second layer of...

Time to install a transmission cooler

After monitoring my trans temps for more than a year my advice is.... if you tow with a 4r get one, if you dont tow, trany temp isnt an issue. I found pretty comprehensive instructions and a video on etrailer although they had the inlet outlet hoses reversed. Install is really simple. Took...

Removed the Rear Sliding Tray-5TH Gen Limited

Thank you for the kind words :) I enjoy building things and value doing it right over being efficient or cost effective. My goal is to only have things around me that I love. You can build this or something similar. The only tools used were a drill, Skillsaw or chopsaw, tape measure, jigsaw...

Another Full-Length Roof Rack Option -PrinSu

I have an unhealthy addiction to high powered magnets and try all kinds of applications. My brake controller mounts to my truck with strong magnets, as do my guns in my gun safe. The problem with magnets in these applications is that their strength decreases logarithmically with their distance...

Another Full-Length Roof Rack Option -PrinSu

Oh, those are updated since I downloaded mine, thanks for the tip! Still though, there are no pics of the finished install and I don't notice any specific mention of the gaps. I'd still like to know what this looks like and if debris piles up in there over time. It seems like maybe I should...

Another Full-Length Roof Rack Option -PrinSu

Does anybody have a pic of the factory roof rack bolt locations after the prinsu install? I think I'm clear on the front drilling and plus nut. On the rear factory locations though is there just a gap in the gutter guard? I'm getting ready to do my install and am going to try to make it...
