    Alexander Mackenzie Heritage Trail

Way better trail coverage then the XO guys. Looks like your 4 rigs total cost would be less then any one of the buggies they "built".

    AirspeedX's Build / Trips

How did the BFG KOs balance for you? I've got some wobble with mine in the 95km/h area. I should take them back for a rebalance, but I've been too lazy...

How much are people paying for the NEW 4Runner?

I bought my 2015 Canadian trail last August for MSRP minus 2000 plus taxes. I searched all of BC and worked one deal against the other. It would seem that everyone else can get a better deal then this, but it was local and in the colour I wanted. Hope this helps with the search.

5th Gen Wheel & Tire Thread

I personally didn't weigh mine, but for reading on here the Trail rims are 32 pounds and the tire was 40 pounds for a combined weight of 72 pounds.

Mounting equipment to the top of dash....drilling into the top

Overland expedition mounted their Ham face plate in front of the clock area. Hard to tell from the video, but it might just be velcro'ed in place. Skip to 3:56 on their youtube build video

    Toyo Open Country ATII EXTREME

The 285 come in regular and xtreme. The Dodge diesel is my tow rig so nothing too crazy off road except running down Forest Service Roads. I run a winter tire, but they seem fine in the shoulder season. I pull a 5th wheel and they have performed well with a heavy load on.

    Toyo Open Country ATII EXTREME

I've got a set of 285/70/17 ATII E on my 3500 dodge. I've got 40,000km on them and they seem to be wearing pretty good. I haven't noticed any traction issues in rain or wet roads. They might be a touch heavy for the 4Runner? I went with the BFG AT KO2 to try something a bit different on my...

How to trim & not look terrible?

It's not that bad and no one but you will ever know that you trimmed. The area that needs trimming is fairly hidden. Get some new nippers and mask the line that you want to cut. Go slow and make a couple of passes. Finish with a light sanding and some touch up paint and you are golden.

    Awnings: which side?

Not sure your application, but I would vote passenger. This is the side that the awning on most campers / trailers and therefore most campsites are set up with the picnic table, fire pit on that side. This is a wash if you drive in backwards or never venture into the commercial sites.
