I humbly disagree about the non-turbo mr2. As an owner, my 91 NA hauls. Its not the fastest in a straight line, but in the corners...not much can beat it. We have a slight weight advantage over the turbocharged mr2s. Its the best handling car i've ever driven.
in your original post you say that synthetic oil costs 5 times as much as dino oil. synthetic lasts 5 times longer! so you actually save money running it. amsoil lasts 25k miles... dino lasts 5k.
use compressed air to clean out your sunroof drains. open the sunroof and there will be 2 or so small holes in the corners. blow out the dirt that is probably clogging them
im running the 25K mile stuff in my mr2, and so far so good. im due for an oil filter change in about 3K miles... we are running the amsoil 7500 in our 97 4runner and 02 tacoma. didnt wanna hasle with the filter changes on those (cuz oil filter changes are a pain on them) with the 25k stuff.
this is the biggest reason for the warping rotors. the reason they are so small is that toyota needed to meet a federal weight requirement... so the rotors are one place they saved weight. but as a result our rotors warp.
laws have been passed to keep car manufacturers from voiding your warranty because of using long life synthetic oils. if they tell you otherwise it is bull.
I have a '97 4Runner Limited with a bad engine fan clutch. I have ordered the new clutch and was wondering if anyone knew the torque specifications for the clutch's bolts.
Thank you,
Douglas
