cost to replace timing belt + water pump ?

5 hours labor for ccomplete kt with seals. Your mechanic charges x. The only one I trust is now $130. My kid is heading up to Humboldt for school, can you recommend anyone up there for maintenence?

    List of 5speed V6 owners wanted for record . . .

Bought my stepdaughter one: 2000 Highlander. Must be near 200k, I only see it every 5k to change the oil. Hasn't needed anything since I bought and fixed it up for her at 180k. Damn reliable vehicles. Thought she'd have killed the clutch by now.

    Oil filters

No reason not to run the larger D3 filter, more capacity is a good thing. Wix, OEM, K&N, are all good. The 5VZ is not picky about oil but i'm of the opinion M1 is superior to Toyota oil and often cheaper.

    Throwout bearing squeak

8 months later mine is still working. It's the stepdaughters truck which I only drive rarely now so it doesn't bother me much. Waiting for her to burn up the clutch completely before doing anything. Don't know about your smell though or how loud your is, mine is just a cricket down there that...

    Rear cone bumpstops?

Don't the cones contact way before the other bumpstops and act as a progressive helper spring. I think you want those in there unless you are lowering a lot and adding significant spring rate or air bags.

Ultimate Suspension For On Road Handling?

The 4600 Bilsteins are perfect with stock springs. The fronts have more compression and less rebound damping compared to the 5100s, better for stock springs. I think the rears are identical. Can't really compare to stock as the ones they replaced were dead, but the ride was more comfortable as...

Hard to find Specs, Info & Measurements on 231mm 13WL Tundra Calipers & Rotors

I got tired of reading, sorry if I missed it but: are the caliper pistons on the 13 WL the same diameter as stock? More fluid capacity just from extra width? Otherwise bias would change.

    GB on UltraGauge OBDII w/TacomaWorld

I'm in for an MX, maybe 2 if the code could stay active for a while so I could try one for a few days that would be awesome. Thanks.

Engine Trouble caused by driving without oil

If you wouldn't mind letting us know when your truck heads to the local PicknPull there may be something salvageable.

    98 V6 Wont rev over 3500 - Detailed

I would have never believed it myself, but several Spec Miata race cars have had this issue recently, yes, it's at nearly twice that rpm, but identical symptoms, and an alternator solved it. Not sure it applies in this case, at these rpm, but it's real..

    98 V6 Wont rev over 3500 - Detailed

I'd guess electrical. Sometimes when alternator bearings are failing there is enough wobble at higher revs to float the brushes. Maybe even before alternator check all ground wires.

Some research and thoughts on Brake Fluids...

ATE while good stuff, does tend to pull more moisture out of the atmosphere so needs to be flushed more often. Castrol LMA is what my street vehicles get.
