I'm pushing 200k on my 97. LBJ failure is a constant worry for me. I just need to buckle down and replace them already. Thanks for the cautionary tale.

It seems to be leaking between inlet and water pump. I replaced it with an oem rubber seal. You might be onto something with the wire bracket thing. Not home at the moment, but the more I think of it, I think I did put it on the bolt before replacing inlet. I'll give it a shot, thanks!

Yeah I believe so, it doesn't seem pinched and seems fairly snug.
