Well I know on my 1997 4Runner the p/s cap itself says what to use. Mine is dextron atf. You may want to look and see if the top of the cap say anything..
Mine would do what yours is doing on occasion. Than I was driving down a mountain grade and as I applied the brakes it stumbled and died. I was able to put it in neutral and restart it but that scared the crap out of me. No brakes nothing. Turns out I replaced the whole idle control valve and it...
Well if this helps I replaced front strut, rear shocks and also did lbj. I figured I should start somewhere as the truck has 275k. I put bilsteins on. Smooth as glass now. 65-70mph all the shaking was eliminated. Hope this helps someone
you may have a spark plug boot arching threw into the tube. Or You may have cracked a plug putting new ones in. Pull them all out and look for any carbon trails on the side of the plugs.
I make a habit to change my coolant Once a Year. Same time every year, June. That's just me. But I guess if you don't want to do it that often , every 30K
Phattyduck I don't think it's in the drive line. Going down the freeway if I pop it in neutral it still does it until I get that sweet spot. Drive shaft isn't really turning in neutral
