Similar with my 2010. The drivers brake light didn't work ... then fixed. The passengers brake light didn't work, try adjusting the contacts. Something was loose. Eventually, changed the socket and no problems since.

Funny, I had the same thing on the drivers brake light. Replaced bulb, switch left over to right ... not fixed. Took to dealer and it was an "open circuit" ... fixed for $22. Sounded like something was not connecting properly.

No need to remove the fender liner. What I did was just go from under and reach in with my hands and no problem replacing the bulbs.

I have tried peppermint oil. Sprayed it in the corners of the engine compartment.

Sorry to hear, but the cabin filter is one of the quickest, easiest DIY. For now, try using a just the hose portion of a vacuum (i.e., a shopvac) and see if it can be sucked out.

bump. 2 cracked replacement windshields on the 2010 over an 11 month period. My previous 3rd gen had no issues w/ rocks hitting the windshield. The 5th gen must be a rock magnet.:mmph:
