My new actuator works, I did need to unplug the harnesses from the ECU to reset the new part. Glad that's over!! However, now my key will not turn to the left in the liftgate!? It still turns right and will raise the window and lock doors. Just won't roll down. Is this a possible security...
Yes, it works now! I did need to unplug from ECU and plug back in. All good now except now my key will only turn to the right, not the left on the liftgate! not a huge deal but wondering what happened. Is there a security feature that may have triggered while unplugging things?
The new one I picked up, which was ridiculously expensive, would stay locked when I manually locked it without it connected to the hatch. I had all the plugs disconnected while I installed the new one so I don't know if it would work like that. I would disconnect the wiring off the hatch ECU...
Did the new actuator work before disconnecting the ECU and re-plugging? I plugged in the new one to test and it does not operate. Wondering if a disconnect is required or if my problem lies elsewhere.
Any luck with this problem? I just tried a new actuator and still no luck. Wondering if a reset is needed just for the actuator. Everything else is also working on mine (window, wiper, lights, etc.) Planning on trying a new switch next I guess if there are no tricks with resets I'm missing.
My 4th gen had idle problems after a new battery. It simply needed to re-learn idle. Takes 5-10 minutes. Try that before spending money/time on other troubleshooting.
I have this same problem. Shakes/shudder when I hit about 1900 rpm going around 30 mph. Does it more if I'm on an incline. Does not do it if I step into the throttle a bit more or accelerate quickly. I've searched this forum, others, youtube, etc. I've concluded that it's a common problem...
I had an idle problem when I first got my 05 a couple months ago. Engine would die without throttle. I was worried about a costly problem but it turned out that the idle control needed a reset because the battery had just been replaced. Was just a 5 minute fix! Try that before spending...
I am not a mechanic but I had an idling problem that seemed like misfiring when I first got my used 05 a couple months ago. Obviously I was terrified that I had just bought something that was going to need major repair but turned out to simply need an idle reset because the battery had been...
I have an 05 SR5 with about 140k. My liftgate also just stopped working suddenly. This is the only post I found with the same symptoms. Every other post I found had a stuck/rusted actuator or ALL the electrical in the rear was out(window, wiper, etc) or the actuator would try to work. I have...
