Base models don't come with painted door handles, so they come black from the factory. The side mirrors are the same way - they are black rather than color coded to the rest of the rig.

They are certainly more advantageous than factory lights alone, but not nearly as much as the light bar. Personally, I use my Hella's more as fog lights/DRLs.

When your land/home is miles down a dirt road with lots of critters crossing the road at night and during the morning, these bars serve a purpose and go beyond aesthetics and trends.

Try to eliminate the simple first. No corrosion. Have you tested the battery (perhaps a dead cell)?
