Did you ever do this? I'm looking for some guidance to do it on a 5th Gen 4Runner and don't see anything.

I guess it's been a little while but did you end up getting it fixed or just let it be and clean as necessary? I'm looking at buying a 2007 V6 SR5 with just over 100K miles and what looks like the same situation as you have/had to about the same extent.
