    Smittybilt compressor on board air

I have a little bag of rubber bolt caps that press on over the air connection to keep mud and stuff out. I always forget to take them off before I fire up the compressor and they shoot off in to the wilderness, or if I’m lucky shoot one of my friends in the leg. The brass connection with walker...

    Smittybilt compressor on board air

Nicely done! Man I love having the compressor on board. Makes everything so easy. Just make sure you have the engine on when you run it. I forgot one time and blew my fuse. Actually, that reminds me: if you haven’t already, wire in a 40 amp fuse between the battery and compressor. That way if...

    Relay issue with windows?

I had a similar window issue that was resolved by rolling down and up each passenger window 3 times and then 3 times with the drivers window. I guess it resets something. Don’t know about your other issues. Did you recently run your battery down and have to jump it?

    Smittybilt compressor on board air

It’s the 2781. There isn’t a ton of clearance but it fits. I took the base plate off the compressor and mounted the feet to my home made tray. Sorry I don’t have better pictures. If you want another angle Let me know, I can go take some.

    Smittybilt compressor on board air

I mounted mine under the hood. It works great. I made a bracket that attached in 3 places. I used 2 existing screw holes and added a rivnut. It was still shaking around a bit so I later added an aluminum brace that attached to the top of the compressor and it’s been solid. the air connection...

    Your other rides...

2012 Avant. Originally this was my car and my wife was going to haul the kids in the 4r but we ended up trading. This thing is so fun to drive though.

    Ditch/spot light brackets

I have the cbi ones and I needed to do some cutting. I think that there is enough room to clear without cutting if they were bent a little differently. That said the cuts aren’t really visible and the brackets are strong. I added an extension to mount a cab antenna and it doesn’t flex at all...

Gen 5 fuse diagrams/key? Main window control not working right...

I just want to say this forum is the best. I had this same problem. The switches on the drivers side wouldn’t roll down the passenger side windows. Checked all my fuses. I called the service guy at a dealership and he didn’t know what it was and suggested that I bring it in for the techs to...

    having terrible luck

I could be wrong but I think those 3 bolts press out. I helped my friend remove them and press in longer ones for his spacer lift. We used a bench vice and sockets.

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

    New wheels and tires!

Anyone have 265 tires with a lift?

Here’s mine. Toyo 265’s. Roughly 3” lift in front, maybe 2-2.5” in the rear. (Forgot to measure before I lifted it) I think it looks fine, although I do plan on going to 285’s at some point. I did use 1.25” spidertrax which helped it look better. The extra clearance on the trails is great. I’m...

    RSG Angled Sliders

Yup. Just used some jack stands to get them roughly in place and then lined up a hole on one side, put a bolt in by hand, then lined up a hole on the other side and added more bolts.

    RSG Angled Sliders

My second box was mangled. Looks like it fell off the ups truck. Slider was fine though. It might have had some scratches on the end had I gone with powder coat but sice it was raw no problem. My wife asked the driver to make note of the condition of the box and she took pictures in case there...

    RSG Angled Sliders

I painted and installed mine. I love them. These look great and are built well. They stick out enough to use as a step for my kids. I’m looking forward to bashing them up in the rocks :) The install was easy. My only issue is that I think the washers supplied with the sliders would work better...
