Two words “ Vee eight”. My 4Runner was the first car I owned that wasn’t a 4banger Tacoma. That’s right at 30 years old my list of cars consisted of 3 Tacoma’s all 4cyl 5 speed. They were great, pretty sure they could survive the apocalypse, but they were really slow. Since used 2nd gen Tacoma...
I had a 28ft travel trailer with one slide that had a dry weight of 4900lbs. I redid the floor with 3/4 inch plywood which added a lot of weight I’m sure and my V8 pulled it just fine up to 70mph. I had gotten a nice brake controller and weight distributing hitch with firestone airbags and strap...
I 32 years old I’ve owned 5 cars. 1990 Honda prélude si 4WS 5 speed ( bad little car in its day)Then 3 Tacoma’s 99, 2005(totaled) and 2002. All 4 bangers all 5 speed all roll down windows. The 4Runner feels like a Gwagen. Still miss my Tacoma sometimes.
I have the KC Hilites C series mounted on my GOBI rack. 2 spots and 2 floods. Floods were a bad idea up high. Lots of reflection off the hood but might do better at ditch height. If I had the first clue how to post pictures on here I would. But the KCs run you about 130 bucks with wiring kit...
Turning radius in Toyotas are best in class I think. Drive any Chevy or ford SUV and it's a challenge in the parking lots. Unless the tires are oversized so much so that it prevents full steering 4 runners have some of the tightest turning circle. Unless your friend was driving a fiat or VW...
I was number 32 on the list. Had basically given up until my card was charged last month and now tomorrow it will finally arrive. Almost 5 months after I placed the order. This rack better be the best damn thing since sliced bread. Not sure how you could run a business like that? That being said...
Get a 4th gen. Get the V8 it's one of the few Toyota 4x4s that has extra power. And with AWD is safe. Rain snow gravel it stays planted. My brother has a brand new Tacoma and my 4th gen is still the softer and faster ride and it was half the price.
Dang. I'm working that big beach re nourishment job on a tug. I was just in beach haven. Now we are in Cape May and I'm Heading to philly tomorrow to fly home. Don't think I can afford to detour. Thought maybe if you were close I'd meet you somewhere and take it off your hands.
I'm heading up to Sylva NC ( hour from Asheville)for a week for business looking for places to see and maybe meet up with some folks. I'm planning on moving there in the spring and build a house on some land I have (which hopefully isn't too charred ). I basically know no one in the area I'm...
I was stoked when GM put the diesel in the Colorado. I'll never buy one but if a bunch of other people buy one maybe the light bulb will go off for Toyota and they will finally give us what we want and that's an efficient torquey diesel. Toyota is never the first to do anything. Nissan I think...
