Keeping my 5th Gen 4Runner for now despite the 2025 4Runner redesign

I just ordered a 2024 ORP in Underground. There are none around locally, I had a bit of a hard time finding a dealer that did not want to only sell what was sitting on a lot and force financing on me. Will find out more but could be waiting as long as October. I’ve been eyeing a new 5th gen...

    Are RockAuto "Denso coils" legit?

Been running these coils for 6 years no issues. Have not had a problem with any of the Denso or Aisin brand products from Rock Auto. Did complete Timing belt, water pump etc I could see where the Toyota logo was filed off of the water pump as it was sold as Aisin.

    Alex9000's First T4R

Leak may also be valve cover gaskets leaking oil and running down the back onto steering rack. Should be easy enough to tell if its motor oil or ATF. If the seals in the rack are bad I have read that it can leak from the inner tie rod boots. I did get a junkyard rack that had a leak on the...

    Engine bay refresh project

No problem! You're right, it's nothing that can't be redone if you're not happy with it. Maybe try using a self etching primer.

    Engine bay refresh project

It's been about 5 yrs since I did that work but I think it was just dupli color adhesion promoter, I used some off the shelf clear from home depot and it has started to yellow a bit now. If i was to do it all over again i would use the VHT high temp gloss clear for brake calipers. I used that on...

    Engine bay refresh project

I also used crushed glass, it's so gentle I hit the plastic electrical connector and it did no damage. These were bead blasted, washed, wiped with acetone, adhesion promoter, then clear.

    Aux. Trans Oil Cooler Confusion

I have the same thermostat, if you installed it as per the Derale instructions you should be good. Can't remember which fittings on trans is supply/return I just searched and found a good thread on here that had the info. Forget the laser temp gun readings on the outside of the stat, get an OBD...

    90080-87010 relay help

Pins 1 and 2 are the coil. Pin 1 +12 vdc from your switch. Pin +2 Ground Pins 3 and 5 are the Normally open contacts. Pin 3 +12vdc from battery (should install fuse inline). Pin 5 to the load you are trying to power. I'm guessing that you're wanting to use a switch to turn on/off the inverter...

    Catalytic Converter Info

I redid the section with cats from the header flange to a Gibson Catback in 304 SS using 308L filler. The Gibson is 409 SS and the 02 flanges are mild steel, used 309L filler for all joints not 304 to 304. First Tig welding project, not Youtube worthy but was able to cobble it together.
