Help! my 4runner is a death trap

Heavy wear on the outside of tires is always toe in. It sounds like during the alignment it is square, but driving it goes toe in heavily. I'd look for hairline fractures in the rear axle that are causing it to flex under load. Also check the rear axle bearings. Something is causing it to flex...

    V6 Won't Idle

What plug exactly? Are you sure you didn't get the wrong plug? The V6 and V8 run different plugs. The wrong plug will do exactly this.

    Scangauge vs. Torque Pro

I don't see why you wouldn't pick up one under $10. You can also use Torque Lite (which is free). I own the cheap one and I've never ever had a problem doing a read on the 10+ cars (including the 3rd and 4th gen) I've used it on. Also note that if you have an iphone you need the wifi version...

Slammed brakes, pedal sank to floor

Agreed, cars need a brake bleed job every 50k or so, otherwise you get moisture in the lines which boils and turns to a gas during heavy braking, and a gas is not a good hydraulic fluid. If your pedal ever feels soft, get a bleed job immediately.

Help me decide: Radflo 2.0 or Toytec

As far as I've seen here and on t120, the only radflos that ever did clunk were the 2.0s. I and many others have the 2.5s and have 0 issues with clunking. There's also never ever been a thread about a 2.5 clunking that wasn't related to low gas charge.

    2014 4Runner - Increase Power?

Your 2003 had 235 hp, your 2014 has 270hp, put your foot on the floor and all is solved. Don't waste your time with an exhaust that's only worth about 3hp.

Starting to dislike my spring and shock package

I'd also consider Radflo when you're shopping at that level. Usually between those 3, it comes down to valving. I've been extremely impressed by the Overland Warehouse valving on the Radflos. Lots of guys on toyota120 run them.

Well I've had my first verified bad experience with toyota

Umm, no. If I take a powerwasher (a pump basically) turn it on and put it inside a plastic box, it doesn't matter if the box lid is open or closed, the powerwasher is still running with the same pressure. The same goes for your oil pump, it takes oil up the pickup tube and squirts it all over...

Dreading going to dealer to buy new 4R.

Seriously, don't start negotiating at a dealer, this technique works so much better. Have them all fight prices against each other before you step into a dealership. This is the way I've purchased cars for the past 15 years: The Slickdeals Approach to Negotiating the Price of a New Car (Updated...

    New 2015 4runner tonight by by 06' v8

I'll pipe in because I'm an engineer. German cars have a ton of electrical issues because around the early 2000s many of them switched away from wiring harnesses and real wire to fiber optic communication to "save weight" yet German cars are heavier than ever. So because of that, all of them...

Truck leaning 2" to drivers side

Your broken hub is causing the height issue, if you have that much negative camber that whole side is sunk down. Fix that first to see if the problem goes away.

    Tire opinions

Agreed, Cooper AT3, there's a reason why they won the Consumer Reports shootout and dirt cheap through tirecrawler.com
