    ABS Stutter

yeah, I'm 90% sure that's what the problem is. in stop and go traffic I can even keep it from happening if I lock the handbrake at the first little click to keep them kinda warm. it's warped drums, has to be. going to get this done ASAP

Front wheel, hub bearing or hub assembly? (2WD)

like I said, sucks. was used to being able to just buy a new hub assembly that already had new bearings in it and just bolt that sucker in place. seems like Toyota didn't make anything easy on the 4Runners, lol.

Front wheel, hub bearing or hub assembly? (2WD)

that really stinks. i'm all for paying a few bucks more for an entire assembly but being able to change it out myself.

Front wheel, hub bearing or hub assembly? (2WD)

On the 4runners (2WD, not 4WD), can you simply change out a hub assembly if your front wheel bearing is starting to make noise or do the bearings have to be pressed in? On many of the cars I've had in the past you could just swap out a hub assembly with basic hand tools. The assembly usually...

thanks for thinking of me. unfortunately I'm gonna have to wait until I can find just the elbow though. my budget for replacing it is super limited :\

Any alternative to the $80 Toyota intake duct?

We're already way better about budgeting and use of credit than the vast majority of Americans. That said, I definitely appreciate the (what sounds like professional) advice :) I've got it patched for now. Will just wait until I can pick up a used boot for under $20. Truck needs several hundred...

Any alternative to the $80 Toyota intake duct?

yep. ripped off the part of the boot that normally connects to the TB, turned it around, then jammed a 2" PVC pipe into it with a coupler on the other end so that the duct from the box can clamp down tight onto it. seems to seal quite well and I was able to keep the little port for the emissions...

Any alternative to the $80 Toyota intake duct?

did it ever occur to you that I'd much prefer to do everything properly, with OEM parts but that I simply don't have the money to do it. you DO know that some people don't have a lot of money right? especially to spend a crazy amount on a part that I should be able to pick up for $10 used any...

Any alternative to the $80 Toyota intake duct?

there's a difference between "unwilling" and "can't" the truck already needs some brake and bearing work I'm trying to save up for. we are a single income family and money is tight. can't afford to go tossing insane amounts of money at a stupid little rubber boot.

Anyone ever re-route this vacuum line?

yes, mine is a 2000 and I desperately need that hose. $65+ is all I've seen anywhere online. usually around $80. on top of that NONE of the local auto parts stores even have that part in their database, so they can't even order it.

Anyone ever re-route this vacuum line?

well the problem part is the little elbow that goes from the throttle body to the intake silencer box. the vacuum line I was asking about is the one that comes out of the intake elbow. I've GOT some universal flex-tube that I can easily go out there right now and put into place going straight...

Any alternative to the $80 Toyota intake duct?

tried that...nothing in the right size. jumps from 2 inch to 3 inch. 2 inches is way too small, 3 inches is way too big. been at this for days now.

    3.4L throttle body inlet diameter?

i would do that...but honestly spending anything more than about $15 right now to fix this is just not in the cards.

Anyone ever re-route this vacuum line?

been to hardware stores, auto parts stores...they just don't make hose in the size of the intake duct. I've been looking for two days. I'm at an end as to what to do to replace this part without spending money that I simply don't have. Especially when my truck needs other things right now that...

Anyone ever re-route this vacuum line?

If that's the case then I'm left with quite a dilemma. My intake duct (just the short little one from the throttle body to the silencer) is cracked badly. I've tried the local salvage yards...nothing. New they're like $80, which even if I had that money to spend I wouldn't because that is about...
