I believe you would need equipment
Toyotas I believe can be done without a special tool. But with Lexus I believe you would need a special obd2 scanner to program the transponder in your key.

I'm new to gx470 but think there should be a sticky note on what parts we can cross over from the 4r, tacomas and tundras.
Or if there is a place please share.

I just got my first gx470 at 140k for $7k. but my frame is shot. didn't inspect it. never thought lexus would make a premature rust rotting frame. I would've paid the extra $1500 John in NC got it for. Actually I would've even paid more for it had I known.
