I have the same exact issue. Left rear light, only works when the lights are on and it's very dim compared to the other one. I have the two package and some severe rust in bumper area. The cover for the trailer harness fell off as well. I'll take a look at the hookup to the trailer lights.

Red Calipers Just did mine today. Since I had to get new ones I figured I'd paint them to help them from rusting. Here's a pic.
