I've tried it and it didn't fix the problem for me.

Listen to Jason guys. He knows his stuff. He hooked me up with my dash kit and went out of his way to answer my questions and help me when I needed it. I can't say enough about his customer service.

It sounds like you have a bad speedometer cable. I had the same symptoms on my '89 4X4 DLX. I replaced the cable and the needle bounce and noise are gone.
