What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Haha yeah my GF is super pumped. After multiple long trips of setting up and breaking down a ground tent/sleeping pads/bags etc... it is going to be well worth it I think. I went with this one due to the size it is when deployed and the upgraded pull straps that bring in the fabric on the sides...

Finally pulled the trigger on a RTT (iKamper Skycamp 2.0). Bout to do a 10 day Colorado to Wyoming trip so we'll see how it goes.

Heres a couple photos. After you route it through that rubber grommet you can pull the headliner down slightly and guide the cable down to the left to the jack compartment.

Nah its not necessary, it comes with everything you need to securely mount it. Video on the second slide showing how sturdy it is. Mag Mic Mount

Ha, yeah thats why I ended up getting that firestik quick disconnect so i dont have to unscrew the antenna everytime I need to remove it.

Yeah it seems to work pretty good. It was super easy to install. Im using a firestik 2ft antenna and a Diamond k400 mount.

Looks great man. Almost identical the one I built as well. Having the slide out is so damn convenient, I use mine a ton.

Making Rear Cargo Area Level With Seats When Folded Down

You can use turnbuckles to secure it to the factory tie down rings. I never secured it though. I used MDF for the top platform so its super heavy and fits in pretty secure. No rattling or movement issues on or offroad at all.

Making Rear Cargo Area Level With Seats When Folded Down

Honestly the easiest and cheapest way is to just make something yourself. I'm no carpenter but it only took me a weekend to build this rear platform and it has held up perfectly. Measurements are roughly 43.25" Wide x 39" Deep x 3" Tall

Yeah should be easy enough to just cover the connecter if you're worried about it, I don't really see how mounting it vertical is really much better either way.

Ah ok, good to know. I might go back and cover up the connecter to just be safe.
