ive got a 92 pickup that blew at 186xxx and a 90 4runner that blew at 200xxx. the v6 engine seems to run for about 200xxx then it throws a rod, thats what both mine did. my pickup was well maintained too, only highway miles, oil changes regularly. rebuilt engines run about 3000$ or more too...

sounds like you blew a head gasket for sure. the drivers side header is a really bad design and causes the car to heat up there really quikly. i would bet that when you hit the water that part of the header cooled down real fast and caused some chain reaction to blow your gasket. but hey im...

where are you located?? id be interested in the body, i need more 4runner sheet metal to make my 4runner monster.

well i just did some measurements between body mounts and it looks like it might be possible, the front 2 are the same, the 3rd mount is 5 inches farther back, and the back three are too tall, so i just need to do some cutting and welding to get it all to line up properly.

the 4runner is a 1990 and truck is a 92 so they are the same model year, same engine as far as i can tell from the front doors forward is the same.

So does anyone know if a 4runner body with fit onto a extra cab long box pickup frame?? i know the pickup has a longer wheel base but i can make the body longer if i need to, I mean im a auto body tech not a mechanic, and i just cant do this engine swap. Please help if anyone knows if this...

I just bought a 1990 4runner today with a blown motor. i found out it was a canadian model once i got it home, but the rear end has multilink suspension on it, is this normal on the 4runner? i thought they all had leaf springs.
