I have a recently purchased V8 and a week old camper. Hauled it an hour to campsite no problems and on the way home today vsc light flashing. No other symptoms. Once trailer unhooked no more light. Not sure what the scoop is. Any ideas?

Hi Jetboy. Is 5710 your gvwr? The 08 brocure says 6005. I would have thought the same. Good point on the w.d. hitch now since I got the 08 model. Do you think V-8 will pull 4600 lb trailer through mountains good. It seems so smooth compared to the 2010 model engine I just traded away. Max...

Also I still have 2008 brocure that said that gross vehicle(6005 lb) weight over the advsetised weight(About 4500) gives me alot of room to play with.

good question. After reading all the input on this site with people hauling 6000 pounds plus, didn't think an issue. So focused on tongue weight being the issue, thinking that the only issue, didn't appear like would be a problem. Still seems like I'd be pulling less than alot on this sight...

Thanks for all the input. Sorry to say I was having a tough time with it. I traded my 5th Gen for a 4th Gen with V8 and w.d. hitch. Looking at labeling on the door sill, it says max cargo and passenger capacity about 900 pounds. Whats the deal with that. With myself and 3 passengers...

Unfortunately, I've called about all hitch manufacturers and went to different shops that mount them. They dont make one for the 5th gen. It might be because they are standard, so no market. Looking underneath doesn't look like much room to mount w/o blocking my spare, loss of ground...

The brand is Equalizer. It doesn't have chains, so it works for sway control as well. The dry hitch of the trailer is 455, doesn't include propane, battery or any items that I need to put in the trailer forward of the axel. Overall the trailer gross is 4700 lb. I'd be hauling myself at 200...

hitch Two shops said that they felt that even with a weight distribution hitch, not hitch receiver, that it could put too much stress and cause it to twist receiver hole or crossmember. Any thoughts?
