Another Satoshi grille mod

FINALLY got all the work done on this project that's been in the works since August. I didn't do any of this work myself. Ordered the grille from Custom Car Grills and paid to have the "TOYOTA" emblem added and painted with the salsa red outline. I could have then used my OEM grill as the...

    Mytoy4 Satoshi Grille Mod

FINALLY got all the work done. I didn't do any of this myself. Ordered the grille and lettering from Custom Car Grilles. Ordered a new aftermarket grille frame in matte finish/unpainted. Sent it to a body shop to have them cut the insert out, fill in the gaps, and paint it. I used JB weld to...

School me on the necessity of adjustable sway bar links

The relocation kit doesn't give you the same latitude with wheel travel as completely removing the sway bar, but I think it's a good compromise for those who are still using it as a daily driver.

School me on the necessity of adjustable sway bar links

The problem with entirely removing the sway bar isn't related to nominal body roll while normal cornering or even on winding highways going up/down mountain grades. It's the sub-optimal control over the vehicle in emergency situations when making evasive and very non-standard steering movements...

    Why a 4th gen?

I'd prefer a 5th gen, but the price point is still insane. I've never paid more than $15k for a vehicle in my life and I'd prefer to keep it that way. Very happy with all aspects of the 4th gen except that mine is getting a bit old (237k miles) and I'm putting a lot of money into it to upgrade...

    Off-Road Lighting Project

Got the ditch lights installed today. Decided to run with the BD Squadron Spot in the driving/combo pattern. Added an amber lens for now since I don't have good fog lights up front. ...

    Off-Road Lighting Project

You bet. I bought the brackets from Rago Fabrication. It looks like they're no longer making them, but still have some in stock. I would assume once they're sold out that's the last you'll see of this particular bracket. I'll get some photos this week.

New option for 4th gen sliders - potentially

That may be the most decent thing you've ever written. As far as your assessment goes - dunno - may be right. I agree with the questions about the two bottom bolts. That's an entirely fair objection. I do know they have some very experienced and respected fabricators. Word of mouth and...

New option for 4th gen sliders - potentially

Got them mounted up today and I'm very please with how they turned out. They tuck up really tight into the underside of the truck providing maximum clearance. I ran some of the objections by the fabricator who designed these and he chuckled. We might arrange for a drop test. I'd be happy to let...

    Off-Road Lighting Project

I saw that thread and it's not bad. I'm trying to figure out how to make it look more factory like you see with the 5th gen 4Runners. I talked my buddy into ordering OEM pods and he's going to work on fabricating a mounting bracket for the BD Squadron series lights. Might have a new option for...

    Off-Road Lighting Project

I ordered the SR-series Pro (spot). It's the only one that fits in the scoop. https://www.rigidindustries.com/sr-series-pro-sr-series.html Specs indicate output at 7900 lumens translating to about 1400 lux at 10 ft. It doesn't seem that bright. I'll get photos tonight of the throw for both...

    Off-Road Lighting Project

Got the off-road lighting project underway today by installing the Rigid 10” light bar in the hood scoop location. Mounting bracket purchased from C4 Fabrications. Also had a 30” Baja Designs S8 installed in the lower valence. I had a local shop do the install and haven’t had a chance to look...
