You are correct. I just discovered that the system wouldn't change from blowing in you face no matter what mode was selected. I pulled the motor Saturday without one to replace it. No more noise. So now all I have to do it get the replacement and reinstall it. Thanks for the reply.

I have a humming noise that starts when the key hits the accy position. There is no chance in the noise when the HVAC system is turned off. It appears to be coming from under the dash also. Any thoughts?
