Never mind! I found a prior posting that had included a picture of where to cut the blue wire coming out of the front passenger quarter panel and into the engine compartment. I had to undo 2 screws to move a couple bracket out of the way to get access but after that, snip!, and no more noise!
I want to simply disconnect my broken antenna motor so that I won't have to deal with the awful grinding noise that it makes when I start and stop the engine.
Does anyone have a picture of where this motor can be disconnected?
Thanks.
Is the whip antenna the same as the Tacoma antenna that has been mentioned? The whip sounds like a much better solution than dealing with a motor. If different than the tacoma antenna, is this an aftermarket part not sold by Toyota? If so, where's the best place to get one?
Thanks.
Does anyone have any experience with trying to fix this problem?
I hear a grinding noise behind the glove box when starting and turning off the engine, only when the radio is turned on. It lasts for about 20 seconds at start-up and 10 seconds at shut down.
I'm assuming the motor is trying...
