When that has happened to me on various vehicles it has been a venting issue. Even at different fill levels it would do it. I would give a good look at your vent to see if there is any crimps, bends, or anything that slows that vent down.

Had to have mine replaced for state inspection. Called around and asked for pricing. Ended up using a local company that did a great job. 250 bucks with lifetime warranty on installation. Mine was original to the vehicle and was ticked off to have to replace it...literally one small crack way...

Just bought the same model a few weeks ago with a hundred k less miles almost exact. Do they have info about when the timing belt/water pump/etc was last changed? Transfer case? How's the frame?

2007 Limited V8. 251k miles paid 7k. Needs timing belt and some paint. Very little rust, drives great.
