Thanks! You told me what I didn't want to hear (that I really need to replace this sensor). The hour of labor is mostly b/c of the amount of rust on the sensor and that they need more time to take it off and rethread screws to put the new one on.
I own a 1997 SR5 V6. Receintly my CHECK ENGINE light came on and from the recomendation from this forum, I bought a code reader (really cool gadget!!!)
Well, the code reader told me that the o2 sensor (after the cat.) was bad. :( I called the 3 different dealers and they all told me about the...
I absolutly agree with you!, BUT I think that you just need to trust the dealership  (which I know is hard to do). I would imagine that they did most of this, if not all. You can tell that they did something since my truck runs much better. Half of that stuff I wouldn't know what to look...
Well, I was going to try and do a lot of this myself, but since it has been bitterly cold here in New England for the past 4 weeks, I decided to let the dealer do their 30/60/90/etc tune-up which is called "Service Level 3". My thought was that since my truck is paid off, I can afford to put a...

I purchased them at BJ's for $149/ea. Right now they have a deal where they...
What do you think about having the dealer do the fuel filter? I am thinking that I can do it myself, but from what the dealer was saying, I might be better off "bending over" and paying their fee for this one item.
I am still trying to figure out if it is worth having the dealer do their...
Background:
I own a 1997 SR5 4Runner with a V6 3.4 liter. I bought it with 49k miles and have just hit 110k. I don't know the history from before I bought it, but it still runs great. I change the oil every 3k miles and rotate the tires every other oil change. The only thing that I added was a...
I own a 1997 4Runner SR5 and it is about time to once again put on new tires. This is my daily driver (I have a Jeep CJ-7 for the trails), but I travel a lot in the snow, ice and back roads durring the winter. I am looking to get a tire that is very good in wintery conditions but yet still be a...
