please do yourself a favor, order these. youll be blinding all oncoming drivers and in turn, if they're like me, will turn on high beams to combat the visual assault you are giving them. these are very east to install, should take an average person with some skill an afternoon to install...

make sure that button for pa/cb is on cb, i had that problem and almost scrapped my cb until i messed with a little and found it was on the wrong setting.

an intake shouldnt be that hot, but the exhaust manifold below it gets way hotter! it could be a problem when idling or sitting in a parking lot after a highway run to the store. that thought makes me think you need a higher temp rating. just my $.02.

ok, for starters, disconnecting the battery isnt going to do anything for a manual actuated lever. crawl under the truck and make sure the selector lever is in fact connected to the transfer case. if it is, it sounds like you may have a transfer case problem.
