You are absolutely right. The ugly wood trim started peeling off in spots in the hot California sun.

It's been awhile since I've been on here because I was on deployment for a bit, but I'm back and I wanted to update what I've done so far. I relocated the spare to the roof basket and removed the factory trailer hitch receiver. In my opinion it looks way better and I never tow anything anyway...
