    Troubleshooting Misfire

If it seems to be an injector problem why not pull them all and send to WitchHunter Performance - Injector Cleaning & Flow Testing Services. I sent mine in a few years ago, these guys are the real deal! Pulling them all isn't any harder than just one.

    Fs 2001 factory fm/am/6-cd/cassette w/amp

For sale is the OEM FM/AM 6-CD changer/Cassette radio with amp, from my 2001 4Runner Limited. I pulled it 5 years ago to install a Pioneer HU with XM Radio. Was working fine then, but I no longer have the T4R, so I cannot test it. If interested, PM me with a reasonable offer including USPS...

    3rd gen 4r vs. 97-01 cherokee

No comparison for reliability. My daughter has a 2002 Grand Cherokee V8 she bought about the same time I bought my 2001 4Runner, to date she has had to replace: Head gaskets, AC underdash complete unit, AC condenser, starter, stereo tweeters, radiator, several small items. Not including the...

    Miss fire under load

Have the plugs ever been changed? Also, replace the fuel filter if it has been awhile. A restricted filter will cause misfire under load.

    Blinking CEL under load today?

So I head out today and encounter a problem I have never seen before. First I notice that there seems to a "shaking" sensation going up hill... Hmm, maybe it's the road. The guy with me notices it too, and comments. A littler farther on, the freeway goes up a fairly steep hill, well the rig...

    Fuel Injector help/bad shop story

I had mine cleaned by WitchHunter Performance - Injector Cleaning & Flow Testing Services a few years ago. They do a great job at a fair price. Obviously, they can't repair a bad injector, but injectors do need to be cleaned at some point. Ne injectors are pretty expensive. I, personally, would...

You know you drive a 4Runner when....

Nope, not sitting on the console, and at 170, not that fat, just lousy narrow seats in the 2001 Limited, and I'm not the only one complaining.. After 6 years and 100K miles, it's going down the road to another owner sometime this year anyhoo..

    A/C Evaporator help please

How do you know it is the evap? The leak could be anywhere. I would have an experienced AC tech find the real source. Replacing any major AC component, while the R&R may be relatively easy, properly recharging with the correct oil amount requires some knowledge and equipment.

Looking at a 2001 4Runner Limited. With Picture

The "play" in the steering wheel is caused by looseness in the upper steering column shaft. There is a repair thread on the yotatech forum about the problem and how to repair it. Mine has it, I think pretty much all the rigs with the tilt wheel have it. In 100 K miles I have not gotten around to...

    Driving With Check Engine Light?

Try another store, maybe O'Reilly.. I drove mine almost 800 miles home one Sunday with the light on. The O2 sensor heater died, but the rig ran fine, didn't even change the gas mileage. However, there are certainly some failures that are not so forgiving. Did you check the gas cap?
