Fixed my T-Case actuator w/ electricity and logic.

Ha, just got a ping from this thread; I'm glad it's still useful! Sold my T4R several years ago, moved into smaller and lighter machinery, but still recall it fondly. Great offroader, super cush. Best, Robert

rear wiper / washer not working

This did not work for me, as my rear window was also inoperative. Somehow the rear wiper blade had gotten jammed against the spoiler while in mid-stroke, and that turned off all functions except the washer pump. Freeing the tip of the wiper and then cycling the spray/wipe reset it all.

    2003 4runner frame rot

Just came in from a 3 hour session under my 90k '07 lived-in-Michigan-it's-whole-life V6 4WD. The rust is honestly ridiculous, I was going to sell my truck before winter to avoid having to deal with it, but my gf found "our 100% dream house" so suddently my available cash is spoken for and...

    4Runner hates the cold!

Weird. Outside of a weak battery mine's had no cold-related issues even at/below 0F.

Rear wiper cycles one time when vehicle is started????

Ditto; have been seeing the same thing with last week's cold weather and just topped up the battery with water yesterday. Often times even 'sealed' batteries have caps that can be removed for service; you may just need to peel the sealing sticker off.

    DIY: Transfer Case Actuator Repair

Yes, possibly. Assume you can spin both front wheels the same direction? IIRC the actuator at the front diff is easy to get to and you may be able to mess with it directly; it's the one on the transfer case that's a pain. You could also try to direct-drive that actuator to get it to cycle...

    4WD not engaging

The vent tube is known to rot where it comes off the actuator and may have allowed muck in when you sunk your rig. Pretty easy to check that; just get under there with a flashlight and possibly an inspection mirror, see if the vent tube is cracked where it comes off the nipple. It was on my...

FWIW.... I paid $600 recently to haul a car from northern Florida to Michigan.

What to do with these neglected urban runner LTD wheels??

This. TBH with uglier wheels I'd probably just power-wash them first and then spray dip from the hardware store. 1 can/wheel is probably enough, but if you had 6 cans total you'd be in good shape.

    Cardone cv shaft

Haven't had to replace the halfshafts on my runner but have bought lots for other cars. If you're going to go the less-expensive route IMO it may make sense to buy from Napa or some other local place with a lifetime warranty. The Rock Auto warranty is fine, but those things are heavy and...

Drive line lubrication-not to beat a dead horse...

One grease, M1. Very recent owner, however, and generally only ever on-road and no towing.

Rusted and frozen Lower control arm help

    0. Hi 1. You're very welcome; glad I could help. 2. Please do note that those instructions were not mine; someone else put that together and I only connected you to the pre-existing resource ;) 3. Agree with the other poster- I bet you'll be fine with that groove.
