I took me 5 years to get new tires, I ended up changing them out, I didn't want to deal with them when they go dead. It gave me piece of mind.

What color was your oil when u drained it for an oil change? Was it dark brown and did the oil swirl with some lighter substance in it??? Or did the oil look like you never added it in the first place?
