Got mine at the Toyota dealer when I was a mechanic there. Guy ended up trading in for something newer. Very well kept ~150,000 when bought. ~215,000 now. Fresh bushings, plugs, wires, timing belt, water pump, pulleys, fluids seals. Runs great!
Ideally one would like to have a DVOM handy. Or in the very least a test light. You could then test to make sure you are getting power to the switch itself, and if so, see if that power is making it's way through the switch and on toward the back in the rest of the circuit.

I am a fan of black vehicles, for the most part. I don't think I've seen a black 4Runner I didn't like, they always look good and only get better with armor and a lift.
