What Tripwire said ^^ is true. Heat will cause problems when they are worn out. Finding a used one and replacing is the cheapest way to resolve this. I have two now that will actuate when in the shade and in cool temps. When they are warm, forget it. :toilet3:

The auto and the amenities personally serve me well here in Colorado. I run 6/10 rated trails with no problems and the auto works better at slow crawling in stock form with no stalling at idle in 1st. I have the FJ40 for harder core stuff anyways. To each his own. :rockon:

Always replace if the gear oil has diluted the grease in the sealed bearing.

A Toyota Tech friend of mine had one made with Chromoly. I used it last year on another friends 96 4runner. It was very handy with the lowered weight when tossing the axle around in the press.

Except for the color, this is much like mine. I was so lucky to find such a good specimen for the price I paid. X2 on the 01-02 wheels. Don't know what happened there.
