I have a very similar issue with my '07 Sport 4x4. I do a lot of beach driving. I can shift into 4W-Hi with no problems, stopped or moving. When I hit the deep sand I stop, shift to Neutral, and move the dial to 4W-Lo. It's a crap shoot...sometimes (rarely) it will go right into gear...
