Unfortunately none of those apps really help when I am in the mountains!

Yeah, I know you can download some stuff ahead of time, but it's a pain... Normally we just just off our phones when we go camping because they are almost useless anyway...
What version of maps did you have before and after?
We have had other minor updates to our system - especially to Entune (which doesn't appear to do anything anyway), but our maps never updated... Even the main infotainment unit firmware didn't update automatically - I had to download the file...
I haven't noticed any updates on my 4R nav system - still seems to be missing new residential areas and road projects completed in the past year or so...
My map version has never changed since our 4R left the factory 05-69-50 (2019-04-0), but interesting what you say about it automatically...
