A final update to my journey: I sold my 4Runner last week to a good guy that was looking for a stick 4runner. My knee just won't let me drive stick daily anymore. :( Loved it while I had it.

Yeah I would definitely give mine a **** you letter. Every time a whole bunch of mud and grass falls into my face when I touch anything under the vehicle, two years after purchase and replacing every steering and suspension part....

I don't know how to tell for sure, but I suspect mine's original @ 290k. That said, mine's a manual. I'll do a flush and replace one of these days I suppose, but keeps a rock solid temp in all weather and driving conditions.

The car I literally traded for this 4Runner (title swap) was an 88 VW Cabriolet (mk1 VW). If anyone has dealt with grounds as almost the main issue in ANY car problem it's this guy :D I'll be checking those out for sure.
