Signal I used something similar to the heavy duty mounting tape (1st link) for mounting the upper snorkel bracket to my pillar. No issues so far and hasn't budged since.

My template was spot on. Just be sure to measure 3 times, "test" fit by placing snorkel with threaded rods in the slots and aligning to the template before cutting. Another way could be to use lipstick or nail polish on the threaded rods and transfer it to the template that's already on the...

I'm sure you'll enjoy the snorkel immensely if/when you get and install it. I'll note that after I instaleld the snorkel, I added a bead of black silicone to fill the top portion of the gap between the snorkel and fender. Hopefully it'll reduce the amount of water and dirt that gets into that area.

I've had mine installed for about 11 months and drove about 11k kms (~ 7000 miles) so far. I'd say there hasn't been any visible UV damage or fading to the unit so far. Great to see the snorkel on a 2010. I had wondered if the antennae on it would get in the way of the install as I have the same year model.
