How to remove the entire dash

Thanks for posting. Helped me out.

    My 05 just hit 253K!

Lol. Love this post. 208k on my 99 V6 and 105k on my 04 V8. Both have been ridiculously awesome. My 04 is salvage due to a seemingly pretty heavy crash, but still runs like an absolute champ.

What I got up to this weekend

It was on. The previous owner said that he had it checked out by the dealership and that they said it just had a code in it from the crash and they wanted $200 to clear it, so he didn't do it. I guess he was sort of telling the truth really. It had a code in it from the crash because the airbags...

What I got up to this weekend

Oh, btw, I meant to include a price breakdown for anyone that might be looking to do this in the future. Here's what I ended up paying for everything (prices include shipping fees and/or tax where applicable): Clockspring rebuild, Module reset, Seat belt tensioners rebuild - $265 Front impact...

What I got up to this weekend

Update for anyone interested. I pretty much got everything back together. The scratches in the junkyard dash were really small and mostly near the windshield where you can't see them anyway due to how the dash angles down there. They even knocked $50 off of the price, so it was a no-brainer. I...

    Needs tires for street-driven 2wd

I just put the LTX MS2s on my 04 2wd. So far they seem like what I would expect. They are smooth and quiet. I have had a set of LTX M/Ss (original compound) on my '99 V6 2wd 4Runner for 110k miles now and they're still going. They have been the best tires I've ever owned IMO. They are still...

    Thieves are getting smarter!!!

I don't know about there, but cops here won't even show up to a vehicle break-in/theft. They mail you the report for you to fill out and mail back. They really could not give less of a ****. Super sorry to see that. I'm actually curious as to how they disconnected the battery. Did they get a...

    rear brakes? shoes?

A lot of cars with rear disc brakes have a brake drum on the inside of the rear rotor hats with a brake shoe setup for the e-brake. I haven't looked at my 4th gen to see how it is done, but that is probably what you are seeing.

Losing coolant regularly, but not leaking?

+1 :( You may not see coolant in the oil if the break is between the coolant chamber and cylinder wall. In that case, you'd just burn the coolant in the combustion chamber. Were all of the spark plugs as you described or only 1 or 2? One thing that you can try is to let the motor run until the...

    Help p0420

Just doing a quick internet check, it looks like the emissions warranty is only 8 years/80,000 miles, so I think you're on your own.

What I got up to this weekend

Yeah, I wasn't happy about the deception, but in retrospect I really should have seen that something wasn't right. After I thought about it more, there were a number of warning signs that I somehow glazed over. But oh well, I'll just consider it a learning experience and move on. I mean, I paid...

What I got up to this weekend

Thanks. I haven't had the R for long, but so far it seems not even in the same ballpark as Toyota in terms of reliability and serviceability. It is fun though and I think it'll be a nice car once I get it all situated the way I want it (maintenance and mod wise). Heh. I just realized that my...

What I got up to this weekend

I bought my '04 Sport with a restored salvage title knowing that it had been in an accident, but I was deceived by the seller about the state of the airbags (my fault in the end, I should have known better than to trust a stranger and not check things out for myself). So, I'm going through the...

    Homelink buttons

Replacing the whole housing is really easy. I just did that to add the homelink buttons to my '04 Sport that didn't come with them. It took me 2 minutes + programming time on the new buttons. Piece of cake. You just pull the old one off (held on by 2 clips, requires substantial downward force on...
