Ouch. Not the response I was hoping for. I wonder how easy it would be to create a repair ourselves. If I understand the issue correctly, I would think some middle layer of material, possibly a felt sheet, between the 2 rubbing parts would fix the issue.

Did you ever try getting this TSB done while out of warranty?

I didn't get rid of it by choice. It was totaled when someone ran a red light about a year ago. It was about to hit 200k miles and I had just done the timing belt on it for the 2nd time a few weeks before. :mad: It was replaced with a 2011 4Runner, Limited 4x4 as well. Pics of the carnage...

Wow! Holy thread bump! I posted that over 10 years ago! :jaw: I've since moved on to cars that are a little bit easier to do burnouts with, although I don't think I've ever really tried one haha :biggrin1:
